Chemical Compounds
Unit Overview: For students to learn the properties of chemical compounds. They will determine the importance of certain chemical compounds that are used in everyday life. The students will to identify characteristics of certain chemical compounds and have an understanding of how they are used throughout the world.
Personal Achievement: I achieved the knowledge of knowing what chemical compounds are and how they’re formed. There’s not just one lame way a compound can be form. For example, compounds can combine with other compounds to form new compounds with new properties. Compounds can decompose to form more compounds, and compounds can combust to form other compounds. Aside from this, I also research about the compound Opium, and I learnt a great deal about it.
Enduring Understanding:
Chemical formulas are ways of telling what a compound is made up of. These lines of information may include the name of the elements and how many there are.
Reflection on Progress Towards the Standards:
Strengths: Demonstrates the understanding of chemical compounds.
Areas for Improvement: Applies mathematical representations to chemical compounds.
