Revolutions Reflection
Why do revolutions start?
Revolutions start when the masses are angry at the people who control the country. People revolt when situations and decisions made by the government aren't benefiting the people who live there, making them feel like they’ve been cheated on. Either that, or people are just extremely nationalistic of their identity that they don’t want to be controlled by another group of people.
How does what we learned connect to the real world?
Revolutions still happen to this very day. Whether by secession, dissolution, overthrowing the government, or by war, new nations appear and disappear every decade or so. When we think of countries, we often think of strong governments controlling their territory for the long run. However, this couldn't be farther from the truth. For example, as recently as 1991, the infamous Soviet Union dissolved into 16 new nations, and in 2011, South Sudan became the youngest nation after seceding from Sudan.
